I'm not really sure there is a way to describe Sengoku TURB aside from this, weird. I'll say it again. Weird. This game with a few refinements to it's battle engine could have been a masterpiece, but NEC was probably anxious to get as many games on the market as fast as possible. And what we got was simply, weird. There is little gameplay value to speak of, little to entice an english speaking gamer in terms of story, just lots of weirdness. And that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

I absolutly loved this game from the very first time I played it. It has hilarious cut-scenes, which serve to greatly compliment the general weirdness. And the story fits in with the whole idea perfectly. Only game that can come close is Brave Fencer Musashi's Allucaneet and Thirstquencher kingdoms. The story is about a girl named Jino-chan, who is a mercanery or something along those lines, who crashes on Planet Lion, right in the middle of a war between 2 opposing countries, the Cats and the Sheep. They aren't really the animals they are named after by the way.

The only sore point about the game is that it is fun at first, but the battles can get very repititive, but luckily the game is pretty short for modern RPGs. The use of troops and the large number of weapon typs in the game is smiply great though, and helps to take away the general repititiveness.

I can't recommend this game to the average gamer though, this one is purely for those of you who term yourself as a "hardcore gamer" or "otaku".
